M. Carme Fabregat obtained her Biology degree at the Universitat de València in 2000. She started working as a Research Assistant in the Aquaculture Institute of ‘Torre de la Sal’ (CSIC) inside the ‘Biology, Culture and Pathology of marine species’ department, working with the ‘Nutrition and Endocrinology of Growth’ group first and then with the ‘Pathology’ team.

In 2006 she moved to the ‘Environmental Toxicology’ department in the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.

She gives technical support to the researchers in the centre by collaborating in different tasks such as:

  • Microinjection and handling of embryos (bleaching, chemical and mechanical dechorionation, etc.)
  • Pulling’ of needles for microinjection
  • Preparation of microinjection plates
  • Maintenance of Zebrafish colonies and embryos stock
  • Fin surgery (pectoral and caudal fins)
  • Fluorescence microscopy screening.


She joined in the CMRB´s ‘Aquatic Animals Platform’ in October 2007, where she gives technical support to the researchers
